As we reflect on the 2025 summer at Reach Cambridge, we are thrilled to share the highlights of our 21st season! This summer was another celebration of academic excellence, personal growth and cultural enrichment, welcoming our most diverse cohort yet with over 60 different nationalities represented! We are immensely grateful for the amazing group of students and staff who made this summer truly one to remember. From inspiring lectures to unforgettable excursions, the 2025 program was a testament to everything that makes Reach Cambridge special.
Academic Excellence & Enrichment
With academic excellence at the heart of Reach Cambridge, students immersed themselves in our diverse range of subjects. From Medicine and Engineering to Psychology and Creative Writing, every student found a course that matched their passions and stretched their abilities.
A standout feature alongside our academic curriculum was the Cambridge Union interdisciplinary debating day. Students tackled thought-provoking discussions on topics at the forefront of today’s world, such as global ethics and climate change, sharpening their public speaking and critical thinking skills in a historic chamber that has hosted world leaders for centuries.
Beyond daytime learning, evening lectures and workshops added another layer to the academic experience. A favourite was the lecture titled ‘AI: Friend or Foe’, delivered by a Cambridge alumnus and economist, exploring the opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence, sparking passionate discussion on its role in shaping the future.
The ‘Yacht Around the World’ lecture was another highlight, as our guest speaker shared a powerful story on racing across the globe and navigating vast oceans. Through tales of hardship and triumph, students discovered how resilience and teamwork can overcome even the toughest challenges. Students also enjoyed a hands-on workshop with a master Ghanaian drummer, experiencing the cultural power of music firsthand.
Kyla shares her experience from Summer 2025:
“It was truly unforgettable – not only did it enrich me academically, but it also strengthened my confidence in pursuing a medical pathway.”
Adventures & Experiences
Every summer at Reach Cambridge is made unforgettable by our signature trips and excursions, and this year was no exception. Students explored the cultural hub of London, whether cruising down the Thames, sampling the market delights of Covent Garden, or watching Shakespeare’s comedy The Merry Wives of Windsor at the historic Globe Theatre. For many, it was a dream come true to see a Shakespearean play in the venue where his works first came to life, whilst others enjoyed walking tours of London’s iconic landmarks, soaking up the city’s vibrant history and culture.
Students also journeyed back in time with visits to Warwick Castle and Hampton Court Palace, two of England’s most iconic historic sites. At Warwick, they experienced immersive medieval re-enactments and birds-of-prey displays, whilst Hampton Court offered a glimpse into the impressive world of Henry VIII and the Tudors.
Back in Cambridge, students enjoyed quintessential local experiences, like punting on the River Cam with stunning views of the city’s iconic colleges, alongside creative and social activities on campus. Sports brought friendly competition and team spirit, whilst the Talent Show showcased some incredible individual and group performances, encapsulating the Reach Cambridge community. Arts and crafts sessions offered a chance for creativity and personal expression, whilst the ever popular Ghost Tour took students on a journey through the city’s ancient streets and legendary stories of the past!
Hannah, a student from 2025, shares their experience:
“Reach Cambridge gave me more than just academic knowledge. It gave me unforgettable friendships. From late-night talks to exploring Cambridge together, I met people who felt like family. It’s an experience I’ll always carry with me.”
Cambridge Life: A Global Community
Life on campus offered the perfect blend of academic rigor and relaxed, sunny afternoons filled with fun and activities. Students lived in beautiful, historic colleges, soaking in inspiring surroundings and the buzzing city life.
The perfect balance between structured learning and social activities ensured that students not only grew academically but also thrived personally. Our most diverse Reach Cambridge cohort ever provided a truly global environment where lifelong friendships were formed. Each experience strengthened the sense of community whilst deepening students’ appreciation for diverse perspectives and cultures.
Caden shares his 2025 experience:
