Having produced a number of Fields Medal winners, there’s no better place to gain an introduction to University level Mathematics than at Cambridge.
The Reach Cambridge maths course begins with an introduction to the history of the subject at Cambridge, examining the work of Newton, Turing and Hawking, amongst others, before moving on to cover a wide variety of areas within the discipline.
Topics during the course include many from both the pure and applied mathematics streams, and also incorporate some overlap with physics. Subjects covered include number theory, set theory, game theory, quantum mechanics, special relativity, linear algebra, theory of probability and principles of statistics. This course will teach students to challenge the boundaries of the subject, to explore the diverse forms that mathematics can take and to think about both abstract theoretical approaches and practical applications.
Students will have expert support from our experienced teaching staff, enabling all students to realise their mathematical potential!
In order to prepare students for their chosen course of study the first week of the program consists of tuition in a range of scientific disciplines, alongside intensive workshops on University applications and leadership skills.
