The weather is getting hotter, and today was a perfect day to balance indoor and outdoor activities.
After classes and lunch at Byron Burger, students could choose between pottery or one of the last chances to do sports here at Reach. In pottery, students made animals like pigs and frogs. There was also a pair of particularly artistic fruits, an apple and a pomegranate. You guys have continued to amaze us with your artistic talents.
Afterwards, dinner was the students own arrangements. A supervisor came across three students sitting together on the benches in the centre of town with bowls of pasta!
The Evening Lecture tonight was ‘Charles Dicken’s Life Story’ delivered by Ian Dickens. A direct descendant of the famous English novelist, Ian Dickens took us through the trials and successes of his great-great-grandfather’s life. The students were extremely engaged, asking many questions at the end. Some of which included how Ian Dickens had written and published his own book, as well as about the writing style of Charles Dickens.
Into the evening, if students wanted a scare…. the supervisors were running a Ghost Tour of all of the most haunted spots of Cambridge. The guide painted his face white, decked himself in a black gown, and entered the student meeting point for the tour as the lights flickered slowly on and off…
For those who didn’t want to be spooked, a cosy movie night took place in one of the Cambridge colleges.
