Today was another big excursion day, the second of the program. Students were given a choice between a visit to the Globe Theatre to see Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Nights Dream, followed by visiting the Tate Modern, or to take a tour of London, from Trafalgar Square to Covent Garden.
Air-conditioned coaches have been our best friend this summer, and some students played card games to pass the time!
A Midsummer Nights Dream was vibrant, musical, and bubbles filled the stage. Some of our students bravely got up on stage during the preshow to read some Shakespeare excerpts, we are very proud of you guys!
At Tate Modern, contemporary and modern art was displayed.
Students were also allowed to find their own lunches, giving them a chance to explore different food places in London, and hopefully find some favourites. Students took plenty of photographs of the scenery, and made the most of the views of the city from the different bridges across the Thames.
In the evening, we all came back to Cambridge to play board games, Nintendo Switch, werewolves, or have some supervised free time in the town. Jenga is played almost every time the board games are out, and a few rounds of Monopoly became especially competitive. It was a good way to unwind after a long day!
