Summer 2026: Program 2 – Day 2

  • July 21, 2026
  • By Author: media@reachcambridge.com
Onto the second day! Classes came first in the morning. The students staying at Corpus have taken a particular liking to playing a quick game of charades every morning between breakfast and classes. It seems like a great way to warm up for the rest of the busy schedule.   We’ve all begun to fall into a comfortable routine, as students once again make their way around Market Square, trying new stalls at lunch. It kept them fueled for a choice of two afternoon activities. A significant portion of the cohort chose to partake in sports on one of the fields in Cambridge. Our volleyball game was especially energetic. Everyone else chatted over postcard-making! Our students are amazing artists. Some were evidently inspired by their accommodation as they drew Corpus Christi College on their postcards, others sketched flags. A few wrote long letters to their friends and family back home, we hope those recipients enjoy reading them as much as we enjoyed seeing the creativity of our students :)   At the same time, the rest of the cohort were working hard in their subject taster sessions: ‘Introduction to Psychology’, ‘Young Leaders’, ‘History & Politics’, and ‘Introduction to Law’.   An outing to two Cambridge restaurants, Nanna Mexico and Byron Burger, was followed by the ‘University Life’ evening lecture delivered by our three program coordinators. Cambridge and Newcastle alumni gave advice on the various education and career paths to take after the age of 18. Tips on how to apply to university and build work experience were given, as well as a look into what university life is like, from local sports to years abroad.   Finally, students had a cosy evening of board games and a film. Night night!   Be sure to follow along with Reach day-to-day life on our Instagram stories: @reachcambridge to get more regular updates
