We started the day yesterday with a well-deserved lie-in, allowing everyone to rest up after a busy week. Students made the most of their free time, with some heading into town to explore the shops and others simply relaxing and enjoying the sunny morning.
In the afternoon, we all gathered at the beautiful Jesus Green. The atmosphere was buzzing with energy as we played sports, chatted, and listened to music. Volleyball was a big hit, and it was great to see everyone having so much fun together!
The highlight of the afternoon, however, was our punting trip down the River Cam. Punting is the quintessential Cambridge experience and it’s a very popular activity, which was proven by the vast number of punts on the river! Despite battling through all the different punts it was a wonderful afternoon glide across the river. It is one of the only ways to see the city’s most famous sights and the back end views of the colleges. From our punts, we saw magnificent landmarks like the King’s College Chapel, the Wren Library, and the iconic Bridge of Sighs. Many pictures were taken!
After our leisurely punt, we returned to Jesus Green for a traditional British picnic dinner, complete with sausage rolls, sandwiches and a mix of different desserts. The evening was a perfect mix of good food, more sports, and music, with two of our supervisors curating a cheerleading routine in anticipation of next week’s talent show!
The outside activities followed by our ever-popular karaoke event. It was a fantastic way to end a day full of fun, by singing our hearts out to some classics.
