Yet another thrilling day at Reach Cambridge! The sun was out this morning as our students dove into their classes for the third day. Our Medicine and Life Sciences class embarked on a comprehensive lesson on abdominal pain, covering everything from the intricate anatomy and physiology of the abdomen to the crucial processes of diagnosis and treatment. It was a challenging but incredibly rewarding session that built a solid foundation in a critical area of medical practice. Simultaneously, our Politics and International Relations students were grappling with the complexities of globalism.
Our students were given free time for lunch before our afternoon activities. Today our students had the opportunity to embark on a fun bookshop tour of Cambridge. Our students were delighted exploring hidden nooks, discovering rare editions, and soaking in the unique atmosphere of some of England’s oldest bookshops. Included on the tour was Cambridge University’s official bookshop, the hidden antique bookshop on King’s Parade, and the second-hand book seller in the market, much loved by students. We also hosted a much loved painting activity at Trinity Hall, with T-Shirts and Tote Bags on offer for our students to decorate to their heart’s desire.
The evening was high-energy at Fenner’s Sports Ground. We started with a delicious pizza feast, fueling everyone up for the activities ahead. The grounds became a hub of friendly competition as students engaged in a wide variety of sports, including spirited matches of volleyball, football, tennis, and badminton. Beyond the traditional sports, we also had some fantastic icebreakers and group games, including a hilarious round of human bingo and a fun drama game brought in by our Assistant Director, Hillary, that had us all making creative shapes together. Our students huddled into groups and were tasked with quickly organising themselves as a team to create an image. Our best result was the impressive ‘REACH’ which spanned out across the sports grounds!
The day concluded with some well-deserved free time for the students to relax, chat, or simply unwind after a packed day of learning and fun.
