Reach Cambridge August 2016: Day 2

  • August 1, 2016
  • By Author: Jenny
It was an exciting day today – the remaining Global Leaders students went to the seaside resort of Brighton, whilst back in Cambridge we were welcoming new school groups who are joining the program. Brighton is always a popular destination with our students and this excursion was no different – it’s a fantastic opportunity to engage with the cultural and historic side of the city with a visit to Brighton Museum and Art Gallery, as well as the fun and silly side, on the beach and pier. Our students particularly enjoyed the variety of rides – who can resist a go on the dodgems? – as well as the sweet treats on offer – ice creams, waffles, and more (though the group had to be wary of greedy seagulls). Meanwhile, school groups from Indonesia, Singapore and China were making their way to Cambridge. It’s always lovely to introduce students and staff to Cambridge and the colleges and hear their awed comments as they see it all for the first time – it’s like seeing the city and university with fresh eyes! All of the students – from both the School Groups and the Global Leaders programs – will have a chance to meet each other properly when subject classes start tomorrow, something to look forward to!
