Reach Cambridge July 2016: Day 16

  • July 14, 2016
  • By Author: Jenny
With just a few days left of the Reach Cambridge July program, we’re making sure to pack in as many fun, interesting activities as possible. After classes today, many of the students had mock interviews, a useful way to experience what university applications may involve. As always, the supervisors who conducted the interviews were incredibly impressed by the amazing knowledge and passion for their subject that the students exhibited. Aside from that, the afternoon was another opportunity for students to fulfil their Sabre charity auction promises, whether that was delivering flowers, going punting, climbing the roof of King’s College Chapel or one of the many other amazing promises offered. And as if that wasn’t enough, it was also a chance for the Community Outreach students and their peers to prepare for Sabre Day tomorrow – a brilliant day dedicated to raising funds and awareness for our partner charity, Sabre Charitable Trust. The evening lecture was a Reach Cambridge classic – Dr Paul Elliott, a Cambridge University fellow and Director of Studies in Biology, giving an entertaining and interactive talk on Evolution. Following the lecture was Zumba, a dance fitness session led by our very own Head Supervisor Precious, which proved so successful and popular that we have added another session towards the end of the week. At the same time, one of our supervisors Lily led a choir practice, as they prepare to sing in our Talent Show on Thursday. As you can see, everyone is really making the most of the time we have left! Written by Flossie, Director of Operations
