Reach Cambridge July 2016: Day 12

  • July 8, 2016
  • By Author: Jenny
It was another fun and fulfilling day at Reach Cambridge. The Economics class played an Economics-themed game that included students taking on different roles that included a banker, firm and household. The idea of the game was to teach the students how mortgages function in an interactive and hands-on way. Meanwhile, some students in the Law class surveyed Cambridge residents regarding public morality. The Law students then sorted out the information based on demographic data. In the afternoon, the students were able to try their hand at a famous Cambridge tradition – punting. The views included the Bridge of Sighs and the beautiful gothic architecture of St Johns College. In the evening, the students met with their corridor for a corridor-themed dinner. Christ’s College had a pizza party picnic complete with various assortments of oranges, apples and strawberries. The students enjoyed eating outside on Parkers Piece, chatting with their fellow hallmates, and enjoying the good weather. Following the corridor dinner was the annual World Fair, which included various student-led presentations about their respective countries. Some students brought food as well, including the UK offering rich tea biscuits and shortbread, and Russia handing out black caviar as an example of a Russian delicacy! Tomorrow we’ve got another big event involving all the students – the Fete of Fun to support our chosen charity, Sabre. Written by Gabriella, Supervisor
