Student Trinity looks forward to Reach Cambridge 2016

My name is Trinity, and I am attending the Global Leadership Program in July.  I am very excited about this and I am finding it hard to wait until then!

The Global Leadership Program offers possibilities for me to learn new skills, have new kinds of conversations, explore different ideas and ways of looking at problems… perhaps even to turn crises into opportunities.

I like to learn about ideas and people. I like to learn and to share: when I am learning new things and able to share with other people I am truly happy. When I’m happy I feel like there is more of me. This helps me to be positive and feel that through education we can build a world where people respect each other and our planet. I am interested in people – who we are, why we do the things we do, how we get on and where we fight.

With students from such a range of countries and backgrounds, I am looking forward to meeting and talking with other people who are different to me. I would love to take the opportunity to talk to people about their lives first hand without having the filter of the media; talking about things that are never asked on television.

Cambridge is a beautiful and historically fascinating new place for me to visit. I am eager to try my skills at punting and hopefully avoid falling in the river. It will be of great interest to visit some of the Cambridge colleges and in particular ‘Trinity’ College, and this is not only because it is my Christian name.

I am sure that the Global Leadership Program will give me a much wider view on the world than I have ever seen before, both with the academic classes and all of the activities and outings on offer. I feel the program will enable me to develop my own point of view and challenge some of the beliefs I have taken for granted.

Most of all I hope to make friends, have fun and find out some more about who I am.
