Summer 2025: Program 3 – Day 8

  • August 11, 2025
  • By Author: Nicole Banas

It hurts to say that we are now entering our final week of the Programme 3, and of Reach Cambridge 2025! It’s been an amazing first week and we can’t wait to continue the good vibes into the other half.

Today our students returned to classes after a weekend of fun excursions. With their brains ready for some academic exercise, our Liberal Arts and Buisness students dove into the Psychology of Branding, and our Politics students exploring the topic of ‘Law, Power, and the Constitution: Who Really Governs?’. It was yet another day of fascinating classes for our students, full of discussion and debate.

Our afternoon activites offered a choice between sporty and crafty; some of our students headed over to the Corpus sports grounds to play some ever popular volleyball. It was a real heatwave in UK terms today; over 30 degrees! In the summer spirit, back at Trinity Hall we had a tie-dye activity, which meant our students were able to get both their shirts and their hands colourful! It was brilliant fun as our students experimented with different colours and styles.

Dinner today was back at Corpus Christi! Much to the supervisors delight, there was pistachio Tirimisu, which was delicious. After dinner we headed over to the lecture theatre for the return of our evening lectures. Todays was from Donna Tweedale, telling us about the impact and dangers of fast fashion practises. She gave an inspiring and important lecture about how to save the planet and buy more sustainably, such as supporting thrifting and vintage fashion pieces. Our students were eager to ask questions and find out more.

Our popular evening activity was pottery painting, allowing our students to finish off the creations they had worked on in their pottery activity last week. It attracted a lot of our artists and overall had a lovely vibe, with some calm music and chatter. There was discussion about preparations for our upcoming Talent Show this Thursday; we can’t wait to see what all our students have in store!

Make sure to follow us on instagram @reachcambridge to see all the action happen, and come back here every day to follow along with our student’s journeys!
