Reach Cambridge August 2015: Day 18

  • August 12, 2015
  • By Author: Luke
Here at Reach Cambridge, we want to make sure that students experience a challenging but fun academic environment. Lessons are delivered in an interactive and student-centred manner, as opposed to just through lecturing, and one part of this is arranging activities and taking students on excursions related to the subject they are studying. So today, the Biotechnology group experienced a practical on the Purification of Proteins. The Maths and History groups went to the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge University’s leading museum housing a huge and varied collection of art and antiquities. The English as a Second Language took a trip to the Archaeology and Anthropology Museum, displaying artefacts from around the world. Our activities today got the students’ creative juices flowing, from  Photography club, to an Arts session creating pieces for Friday’s Art Exhibition, and a T-Shirt Painting workshop. After a busy day of classes, many students enjoyed relaxing with a yoga session on Downing paddock, while others got into the competitive spirit with a quiz. A lovely end to the day was spotting a rainbow over King’s College Chapel out of the Trinity Hall office window! Written by Flossie, Program Coordinator
