Reach Cambridge August 2015: Day 13

  • August 6, 2015
  • By Author: Jenny
So on to Thursday and a continuation of academic subject courses. The economics class enjoyed a guided tour of the Cambridge Fitzwilliam Museum where they observed artefacts such as Egyptian mummies and Medieval European armour. Meanwhile, the students studying English as a Second Language experienced a variation of regional British accents courtesy of the supervisors! The students partaking in Community Outreach with SABRE continued their hard work in preparation of the Friday evening Fete of Fun. The team went shopping for supplies, designed posters to advertise and decorated cakes to sell; it was a hive of positive energy and creativity! The evenings lecture provided information regarding university applications. This focussed upon the system used here in the United Kingdom to attain places and how this is achieved. Members of the supervisor team shared their personal experiences of applying to Cambridge University and the steps involved before answering any queries from the audience. Following the lecture, students had the opportunity to join a ghost tour of Cambridge. Spooky stories were told of iconic buildings, complete with ‘real life ghosts’! Written by Toby, Supervisor
