Today was a big day for the Community Outreach students as the sun shone down on the Sabre charity fundraising fete this afternoon. Apple bobbing, ‘soak the supervisor’, limbo challenge, face painting and dodgeball were just a few of the activities on offer to students after class with all the donated money going to Sabre Charitable Trust. Sabre is a UK charity committed to giving young Ghanaians the best possible start to their education, enabling them to achieve their full academic potential and contribute to Ghana’s future economic development. Training teachers and improving facilities to enable active and play-based learning are achieving this.

Over the past few days, both students and staff have signed up pledges to be auctioned off in the much-anticipated charity auction. Spanish lessons, a tour of Kings chapel roof, breakfast in bed… there really was something for everyone! Tonight they went under the hammer to raise more money for Sabre. Thanks to the hard work of the Community Outreach team and the students who donated their talents for the auction or their money at these events, we raised an impressive total of over £800, which will help enable Sabre Charitable Trust continue their fantastic projects.
