Reach Cambridge July 2015: Day 6

  • July 3, 2015
  • By Author: Luke
No trip to Cambridge would be complete without experiencing one of its most famous traditions – punting. After class, all of the students had the opportunity to try their hand at navigating the special flat boats down the River Cam – not as easy as it looks! This was not only a relaxing way to spend the afternoon, but a brilliant sightseeing opportunity; the punts float along ‘the Backs’, passing some of the best-known colleges in Cambridge. In the evening was a Reach Cambridge favourite, Corridor Dinners. All of the students live on a corridor with people of the same gender but from all over the world, and doing a wide range of courses. Living alongside them is their corridor supervisor, who keeps a special eye on them during the course. The Corridor Dinners are a way for them all to get together for a meal – picnics were popular with the nice weather! – and some activities, with everything ranging from a film night to icecream party. It’s a nice way to finish off the first week of classes, ready for a busy weekend of trips! Written by Flossie, Program Coordinator
