At Reach we enjoy a wealth of international diversity in our summer programs, with students joining us from over 50 countries around the world. This allows teenagers from a huge range of educational backgrounds to join together in one of the world’s oldest academic centres. The chance to live and learn in Cambridge is an educational experience in itself; for many students this is their first visit to the UK, thus allowing them to gain an understanding of British history and culture through trips to theatres, castles, and ancient towns.
Students not only have the opportunity to join us on our amazing summer courses, but also on our Tailor-Made courses. Reach has many years of experience running these academically immersive “TM” courses for several prestigious academic institutions, most recently for Singapore Chinese Girls School (read more about their media and philosophy course here!).
We are now lucky enough to have our own brand new shiny premises right in the heart of Cambridge. Our newly refurbished Victorian property provides us with the flexibility to tailor the program even more to the school’s requirements, along with providing on-site teaching and accommodation. The property itself was previously owned by Cambridge University, and overlooks the beautiful River Cam.
For schools, TM courses provide the unique opportunity of running a course focused on any subject (or combination of subjects) that they would like. Bringing our experience of over 10 years of academic summer schools, we have run Tailor Made courses on a vast range of topics such as: Advanced Linguistics, Biotechnology, and Economics to name but a few. Our teachers are selected from university academics and researchers who are experts in their fields, and experienced at teaching teenage students.
With the competition for university places at an all-time high, it has never been more important for students to stand out from the crowd. Tailor-Made Courses are a perfect opportunity to gain unique knowledge into a specific subject area while immersed in the history and beauty of Cambridge. During the Tailor-Made Courses we also run trips around the UK, affording the students a taste of the rich history of Britain, while having a lot of fun at the same time!
If you think your school would be interested in running a TM course in 2015, contact Luke at; firstname.lastname@example.org, or visit our groups page: www.reachcambridgegroups.com. We look forward to hearing from you!
