Today was one of the hottest days of the summer so far, with temperatures reaching an impressive 32°C (around 90°F). Despite the heat, our students made the most of another fantastic day in Cambridge, balancing academics, exploration and plenty of great food along the way.
To stay comfortable in the warm weather, some classes took their lessons outside, making use of the college lawns and shady green spaces. Studying in the heart of Cambridge’s historic colleges is always a special experience, and today’s sunshine made those outdoor lessons even more memorable.
At lunchtime, students enjoyed a visit to Cambridge Market, where four local food stalls worked with us to provide a wide variety of delicious options. From flavour-packed jerk chicken to freshly prepared enchiladas and plenty more besides, there was something to suit every taste. The food proved to be a huge hit, with students enjoying the chance to sample some of the diverse cuisine available in the city.
The afternoon offered a choice of activities, allowing students to tailor their experience to their interests. Some explored the famous Cambridge University colleges on guided tours, discovering more about the city’s rich academic history. Others put their knowledge to the test in quizzes, while many chose to enjoy some free time soaking up the atmosphere of a sunny Cambridge with friends.
As evening arrived, excitement built for the World Cup match, with students gathering together to watch the action unfold. It was a brilliant opportunity for everyone to come together, support their teams and share in the excitement of a major global sporting event.
With sunshine, outdoor learning, time spent exploring Cambridge, the World Cup and some truly fantastic food, Day 4 was another memorable day for our students.
Tomorrow marks the first of our excursions, and everyone is looking forward to another exciting day of adventure beyond Cambridge!
