After saying our tearful goodbyes to our students at Programme 2, we are thrilled to welcome our newest group to Reach Cambridge 2025!
Our cohort at Programme 3 is made up of students from all over the world, ready for an action-packed two weeks full of academic enrichment as well as lots of good fun thrown in alongside it. After an introductory Welcome Talk where the students met the Reach Cambridge team taking care of them over the course of the programme, our students got stuck into icebreakers with their corridor peers, led by their supervisors. There was also an opportunity for students to see their new homes and get a tour of Cambridge, including the two historic colleges we will be using over the course of the programme Trinity Hall and Corpus Christi. Many students were excited to have their first dinner in the beautiful dining hall at Corpus Christi, complete with ancient portraits and chandeliers for that truly authentic Cambridge feel. Arrivals day is both exciting and tiring; long journeys meant a well-earned early night for our students, so that they’re ready for their first day of classes tomorrow!
Rest is certainly going to be important with everything going on in our student’s daily schedules. There is an exciting weekend up ahead – after their first week of classes, students will be exploring beyond Cambridge. Our first excursion will be to Hampton Court Palace, a Tudor palace inhabited by King Henry VIII. It is surrounded by gorgeous gardens and features the Maze as well as the Great Vine. It will be a beautiful day out and we are hoping that the weather cooperates!
On Sunday, our students will be heading to the big city of London, where they will have the opportunity to visit some of its world famous museums. On offer is the Natural History Museum, which is composed of over 80 million items within life and earth science. It has incredible historical value, with some specimens collected by Charles Darwin. Alternatively, students can also go to the V&A, short for the Victoria and Albert museum, which is the world’s largest museum of applied arts, decorative arts and design, founded in 1852. After these visits our students will also have the opportunity to relax and walk around Hyde Park and Kensington High street!
There’s a lot in store over the next two weeks, and we are thrilled to welcome our students to the amazing program we have on offer. Make sure to follow us on Instagram @reachcambridge to follow along with our student’s journeys, and come back here for daily updates. We can’t wait to get started!
