It’s the penultimate day of Reach’s first program of the summer, and how quickly it has flown by! We still have one full day left tomorrow, so before the emotions start flowing and suitcases start closing, let’s take a moment to celebrate the wonderful day they had today!
After yesterdays energy, we kicked off the morning with the usual college breakfast and one final round of taster courses. Students had the chance to explore some great subjects in Economics, Engineering, and Biotechnology to name a few.
In the afternoon students tapped into their creative energy as they did some final preparations for the world showcase. The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement and anticipation as final rehearsals took place.
As the sun began to dip, students gathered in their colleges for one of the last dinners of the program. Sitting down together in the familiar halls that have become like home, the evening meal was a chance to reflect on friendships formed and memories made.
After dinner, we headed into our final evening lecture of the program: “AI: Friend or Foe?” A fascinating look at the future of artificial intelligence, the session sparked thoughtful questions and passionate discussion.
And then it was time! The World Showcase and Talent Show! After days of preparations and anticipation students took to the stage and wowed us all. We had everything from traditional Turkish dances, to a moving ballet performance, and a soulful rendition of “My Way” by Frank Sinatra that brought the house down. Just when we thought the night couldn’t get any better, our supervisors surprised everyone with a flash mob, announcing tomorrow’s “Reach on the Beach” departure party!
For many, this will be the highlight of their time here. Tonight was a celebration of talent and the hard work students have put into not just their acts and presentations, but also everything else they have taken part in at Reach Cambridge!
