Today’s blog comes from one of the students from our July 2014 program. Riwa has chosen to become a Reach Ambassador and has written all about her amazing Reach Cambridge experience!
I feel really lucky to have been a part of the Reach experience; to have wandered the streets of an astonishing city and to have lived in one of the historic colleges of a prestigious university for 3 weeks. I finally got the chance to discover what university life is like. The courses were very interesting and helped me gain a clearer idea about what to do with my future. I also got the chance to improve my English and gained many other skills such as public speaking and debating. In addition, spending 3 weeks out of my comfort zone has helped me become a stronger and more responsible person and also taught me time management and respect.
It’s amazing how we, people from diverse countries and different backgrounds gathered in one place, not only had so much in common, but had so much fun together. Also the incredible Reach staff made everything easier from day one until departure day, for example the supervisors have made it possible for us to feel at home and to make the most of our stay in Cambridge. Moreover I really enjoyed the excursions on the weekends.
Reach Cambridge really did change my life, it is an incredible experience and if I could I’d do it all over again. I write these words with a smile on my face, but nothing will ever be enough to say what this program meant to me, those are the kind of memories that will be cherished for a lifetime. Today, after everything I experienced during this program, I agree with all the people who once said “We do not remember days; we remember moments, we do not remember what people said, we remember how they made us feel.”
