08:00
Breakfast
Wake up in a Cambridge college and enjoy breakfast in the dining hall with new friends. Students start the day together, with a range of healthy eating options. Friendly staff are always on hand.
09:00
Academic classes
Engage in morning classes and workshops led by expert tutors (many from top universities). Academic excellence is at the heart of Reach Cambridge – whether you're coding a new app, debating global issues, or conducting a science experiment, you'll be inspired. Classes are small to encourage interaction, and tutors make sure the content is matched to the class's skill, interest and experience level. Many sessions take place in authentic Cambridge lecture halls or labs for an added university-style experience.
13:00
Lunch/free time
Break for lunch – perhaps a picnic on the college lawns or an outing to a nearby café in Cambridge's city centre. Students have a bit of free time to relax or explore local shops under supervision. Parents can rest assured that students enjoy freedom within a structured framework: staff accompany groups into town, and Cambridge is a very student-friendly city with safe pedestrian areas.
14:00
Afternoon activity/taster course
Reconvene for afternoon adventures. Each day brings something new, one day you might join a scavenger hunt through Cambridge's cobbled streets, another day you could visit the famous King's College Chapel or go punting on the River Cam. Activities are a core part of Reach Cambridge – they spark curiosity and teamwork
17:00
Downtime and dinner
After a busy afternoon, there's time to rest back at the college accommodation. Students can unwind in the common room, call home, or play sports in the college playing fields. This balance of structured activity and free time is "the perfect balance" we strive for – ensuring students don't feel overwhelmed. Then students enjoy a hot evening meal in the hall. Meal times are lively and communal – a chance to share stories about the day.. Our catering offers choices for all diets, and staff dine with students, reinforcing the friendly, inclusive community vibe.
19:00
Evening lecture
We host a variety of fascinating guest lectures and workshops — you might learn traditional rhythms from a Ghanaian drummer, explore cutting-edge science with a Cambridge researcher, hear insights from an award-winning film director, or be inspired by someone who has journeyed to the South Pole.
20:00
Organised social activities
As evening falls, students gather for organised events. Nights are pure fun: quiz nights, sports tournaments, talent shows, or big team games that get everyone laughing and involved. International experience is a hallmark of Reach Cambridge – during these events, students bond across cultures and form friendships that often last well beyond summer.
22:00
House time & curfew
Students return to their college accommodation (always just a short walk from our activities, within secure Cambridge college grounds). There's a nightly check-in by our supervisors to make sure everyone is settled. By 22:30 it's lights out – time to rest for the next exciting day! Safety and wellbeing are our top priorities: our staff are on duty 24/7, residences are secure, and we maintain a high staff-to-student ratio to ensure each student is cared for. Parents can sleep as soundly as our students, knowing their child is in good hands.
08:00
Breakfast
Fuel up for a big day of adventure with a hearty breakfast in the college dining hall. Students sit down together, chatting excitedly about the day ahead. With a variety of healthy and delicious options on offer – and our friendly staff on hand – it's the perfect start before heading out to explore.

This was honestly an experience I will never forget. On the day I arrived I was a bit shy but after talking with people I realized we were all in the same boat. I have learnt a lot about peoples different cultures and their livelihoods. I have made lifelong friends from all over the world! And finally I have met supervisors and teachers who made me feel safe and comfortable.

Reach Cambridge was without a doubt the best experience of my life. I enjoyed the freedom it provided, while being gently introduced to what university life is like. I made some lifelong friends from all over the world, and got to have many interesting debates and discussions in my classes that helped me open my mind, change my viewpoint and sometimes challenge my way of thinking. I would wholeheartedly recommend this course to everyone and anyone, and the weather was beautiful as well!

Parent
Reach Cambridge was an incredible experience for our daughter. She made friends from all over the world, and had so much fun exploring the city of Cambridge. The teachers and classes were engaging and interesting. The life sciences courses, in particular, got her really excited to study medicine in college. We’re so happy she joined Reach Cambridge this summer. Thank you for all you did to answer our questions and to make the journey and experience easier despite the pandemic. Our daughter had a fantastic time!
