Reach Cambridge July 2016: Day 15

  • July 12, 2016
  • By Author: Jenny
After a fun and very full weekend, during which everyone enjoyed the Fete of Fun and an excursion to London, the students were given a well deserved lie-in, with classes starting slightly later than usual. At noon, the Physics and Engineering class were taken on a trip to the Department of Engineering. Whilst there, they were taken around the Mechanics Laboratory and even got to try out some of the gadgets! With class over and the weather clearing up for a beautiful few hours of Cambridge sunshine, the students had the option of a variety of sports on the Paddock, including volleyball, football, basketball and tennis. This afternoon also saw many of the promises from the Charity Auction fulfilled. Promises from the auction included a pampering session, doing laundry and Head Supervisor Scott’s “Life-Hacks”. This evening’s lecture on Democracy was taken by Harry Dadswell and prompted a lot of thoughtful conversation amongst the students . But the intellectual nature of the evening did not stop there, the supervisors ran a debating session where the students discussed topics as varied as “green is better than blue” and “we should all communicate in rap”. Activities tomorrow include sport, choir and Zumba. Written by Tim, Equipment Monitor
