Reach Cambridge July 2015: Day 13

  • July 13, 2015
  • By Author: Jenny
Saturday saw the students embark on another trip to the capital! This was a specific trip dedicated to museums and (perhaps the most exciting aspect) shopping! As usual London was not short of exciting things to do. In the morning the students had the choice of two different museums: the Science Museum or the V&A. From games which replaced fossil fuels with renewable energy, to finding out cool stuff about our brains, those of us who went to the science museum had lots of fun! Those who embarked to the V&A enjoyed exploring its vast range of architecture, photography, sculpture, textiles and fashion including the captivating Alexander McQueen ‘Savage Beauty’ exhibition. The afternoon was filled with free time around some of London. Some students chose to bask in the unusual British sunshine in Hyde Park whilst others had a chance to explore London shops. From fresh roasted peanuts in the street to exploring the luxury of Harrods, students and staff took full advantage of the opportunity to enjoy the London shopping scene. We all had a hilarious time in the Toy Kingdom in Harrods and the students loved perusing the shops for new items for their wardrobes. All in all the trip to the capital was a great success, although many of us fell asleep on the coach home – London shopping can wear even the best shopper out! Written by Hannah, Supervisor
