  • Reporting to: Director of Curriculum
  • Remuneration: From £1000 per week based on experience. In addition, paid training takes place on the first Friday and Saturday. Half-board accommodation will be provided for the duration of your employment.

The Assistant Director of Curriculum plays a pivotal role in shaping an outstanding academic experience for students attending Reach Cambridge’s summer programs. This role supports the coordination and delivery of all academic courses, ensuring high teaching standards and smooth operational execution.

We are seeking a highly organised, proactive and adaptable individual with strong communication skills and a background in academic administration or logistics. The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative, anticipate challenges, and maintain a calm, solutions-focused approach in a fast-paced environment.

This dynamic and rewarding position provides the opportunity to develop leadership and operational expertise while making a meaningful impact on the learning experience of international students aged 14 to 18.

The summer 2027 program dates are as follows:

  • Program Preparation Week: Monday 28th June – Saturday 3rd July 2027
  • Friday 2nd July – Saturday 17th July 2027
  • Friday 16th July – Saturday 31st July 2027
  • Friday 23rd July – Saturday 7th August 2027
  • Friday 30th July – Saturday 14th August 2027

Please note – The Assistant Director of Curriculum should be available during the program preparation week outlined above. There will also be compulsory Induction Training in Cambridge during the Friday and Saturday of your first program (these dates are shown above). If you have a graduation ceremony scheduled on these days we may be able to make alternative arrangements for your on-boarding. Please get in touch if you need to.

Lessons usually take place Monday – Friday, 9am -1pm. We will consider applicants who are available for at least two or all of the programs.

Key Accountabilities

  1. Help manage and lead all academic staff during programmes. Work with other university lecturers, teachers and academics and other professionals to coordinate the design, delivery and assessment of courses across a diverse range of academic disciplines during each programme.
  2. Support with undertaking lesson observations during the programs. Collect, analyse and share feedback from all parties before, during and after each programme to ensure all teaching is to a high standard. Undertake teaching where and when required.
  3. Oversee the delivery of courses by ensuring all facilities (classrooms, equipment, supplies and materials) are available on time and to the required standard and all logistics (including academic excursions) are planned, booked and executed effectively and efficiently.
  4. Trouble-shoot and resolve operational, administrative and logistics course problems as they arise during the program. Help develop, oversee and implement robust contingency plans.
  5. Ensure all teaching staff and students comply with the day-to-day management, administrative, financial and operational procedures of Reach Cambridge and take corrective action where they are not.
  6. As a member of the senior management team contribute to the leadership of Reach Cambridge by recommending innovative, sustainable and pragmatic ideas to curriculum development and the resolution of management, administrative and operational problems.
  7. Undertake all other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the knowledge, skills and experience of this role as may be requested by the Program Director or one of their nominees.
  8. Uphold, protect and promote Reach Cambridge’s core values, protocols and standard operating procedures so that students, teachers and suppliers respect and enjoy working with the company.

  • Graduate level and above (2:1+) (Desirable)
  • Cambridge city, its colleges and history (Desirable)
  • Working with young people (Desirable)
