Courses - Community Service
Courses:

The Community Service Course is a carefully balanced course with elements of Community Service and University Study classes. During the course, the classes and community service projects are tailored to the talents and skills of the group. As such there are no course choices as such.

Community service:

The Community Service course is perfect for students looking for a way to really integrate Working with Antiquitieswith the local community, whilst also earning hours towards their graduation requirements or to improve their college application. Students complete community service hours with up to four community service organisations in Cambridge. These vary from the National Trust, which owns the majority of Britain's stately homes, to The People's Portraits Gallery - an exhibition from the National Gallery in London, which presently resides at Girton College. We arrange for each organisation to provide between 10 and 15 hours of service time and to provide certification for the time spent with them. By the end of the programme, students will have at least 40 hours. Community service is increasingly becoming part of the curriculum and something that is looked upon very favourably by Colleges and employers. The British Countryside

University Study Class:

Once a week you will have a class with a graduate or undergraduate at the University. They will give you an insight into studying their particular subject at University. The class is often in the form of a tour of a particular faculty or museum in Cambridge. This is a wonderful introduction to University study - not only in the subjects you are thinking of applying to study yourself, but also in gaining a more solid grasp of other subjects at University and what motivates people to study them.
